Legalization of Commercial Documents 

Commercial documents are no longer required to be authenticated by the American Egyptian Corporation Foundation.  You may send your documents directly to the Consulate General of Egypt in Chicago.

Before sending your documents, please include the following:

  • A cover letter stating the documents requiring legalization as well as your contact information with telephone number

  • All Documents MUST be Notarized by a Notary Republic

  • All Documents MUST have a Secretary of State Seal
  • If multiple documents attached to ONE Secretary of State Seal, each document must be legalized individually and will not be considered ONE document. A $55 will be collected for each document for legalization

  • For Certificates of Origin and or Commercial Invoices, you MUST provide a Chamber of Commerce Seal in addition to the above, #1-3 requirements

  • For Animal, Meat and Dairy Products, you MUST supply a Department of Health and Department of Agricultural Certificate in addition to the above #1-3 requirements

  • All documents MUST be sent with a copy for Consular Records.

  • Each document requiring legalization requires a $55 Money order payable to: Consulate of Egypt in Chicago

If you require return mailing, you MUST provide a prepaid return envelope.

All documents will be thoroughly reviewed by the Consulate General of Egypt before final authentication. The Consulate reserves the right not to process legalization based on missing document, improper findings or filing, and/or non-jurisdictional territories.  Please allow for three business day(s) for processing.
